Privacy
The short version: AussieLedger does not want your personal information and does not ask for it. The long version follows.

What this site collects
AussieLedger is a static reference site. It has no accounts, no logins, no comment system and no newsletter. It does not ask you for your name, address, date of birth, tax file number, Medicare number or any other identifier, and there is nowhere on the site to enter one.
The site search runs entirely in your browser. What you type into it is never sent to a server and never stored.
Server logs
Like any website, the hosting platform records standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent, referrer — for the purpose of serving pages, preventing abuse and diagnosing faults. These logs are retained by the hosting provider under its own retention policy and are not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no advertising or tracking cookies of its own. If aggregate analytics are used, they are configured to record page-level traffic only, with IP anonymisation on, and are never joined to any identifier you provide.
Fonts are self-hosted through the framework's font pipeline rather than fetched from a third-party font server, so loading a page does not disclose your visit to a font provider.
Links to other sites
Every page links out to Australian government departments, regulators and other organisations. Once you follow one of those links you are on their site, subject to their privacy policy, not this one. Several government services require you to sign in and will handle identifying information; how they do so is set out in their own privacy notices.
Your rights
The Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles govern how personal information is handled in Australia. Because this site does not collect personal information, there is generally nothing held about you to access or correct — but if you believe otherwise, you can ask, and you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner if you are not satisfied with the response.
Children
The site is general reference material suitable for a general audience. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the revision date below changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
